A platform dedicated to supporting, and celebrating home based female entrepreneurs.
OUR STORY
wecamp was born from the startling realization that women have only a 15.5% participation rate in the labor force despite being 49% of the population. We noticed that the women of Pakistan are immensely talented in handmade work and crafting. Yet, these essential skills were not being put to use for their financial independence. Many of the women we engage also face mobility constraints and are unfairly denied market access.
OUR SOLUTION
Engage women from their homes to produce unique and stunning handmade goods which they can sell on wecamp.pk to kickstart their journey towards financial empowerment.
The much anticipated wecamp Festival 2022 was lit up at the Pakistan National Council of Arts in Islamabad on 10th and 11th December 2022 from 12 pm to 10 pm. Over 100 women entrepreneurs took part in this celebration as they proudly displayed their skill and craft.
Festival Nov 2021
The first Festival took place in November 2021 at the Fatima Jinnah Park, Islamabad. The festival celebrated over 100 home-based women entrepreneurs and was visited by parliamentarians across political parties, covered in print & electronic media, and also covered by bloggers & vloggers.
Festival March 2022
The second Festival, in March 2022, saw participation from 200 women entrepreneurs. The two-day event added to the wecamp community and helped to increase the customer outreach of the home-based businesses.
